Few things bring me as much pleasure as a crunchy, savory, texture-filled salad. This beet and goat cheese combo from The Boardwalk Bar and Grill in Indialantic, FL did not disappoint. The variety of flavors in each bite provided a full, flavorful, sensory experience.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

The blood orange vinaigrette was the perfect flavor to balance the different elements. The goat cheese was warm, creamy, and its crunchy panko-crumb crust made it a must-have in each bite.

As I walked through the restaurant, I saw at least 5 other tables with this salad. It is a hit! I paired it with a nice cocktail, and the family got a burger, which was also very well made.

The beets were pretty, multicolored, and large in size, and paired well with the smaller elements. Though they weren’t really the star of this plate, like the nuts and the goat cheese. I think the candied walnuts and blood orange vinaigrette deserved the spot in the name of the dish!

Boardwalk Bar and Grill is one of the few restaurants in Brevard County that has beach views and access. This upscale setting was once home to a Wendy’s, but you would never know it with the renovations they did.

After dining on a nice afternoon, head over to the boardwalk along the beach to catch the sunset. Of course, on the East Coast, it won’t set on the ocean, but the sky will be pretty at least.

I would recommend the Boardwalk to anyone looking to catch up and share a drink with friends or family. It is also a great date-night location, offering an upscale menu and a priceless oceanfront setting.
