I find it ironic that one of my first blog posts is about a closed restaurant.…
I never got to enjoy the fast and delicious offerings at Me-N-Titos one last time before they closed. It was one of the first local fast-food joints I had visited when I moved to Melbourne. Its burrito/bowl assembly line was reminiscent of Moes and Chipotle but with some standout features, and a lot more Flavor. Their style was much less Tex and much more Mex. Their Mexican rice and juicy shredded “Tito’s” chicken were cooked to perfection. For no upcharge, they would include a tortilla bowl and a churro. Generous amounts of chips and toppings accented each entree.
Many of the workers behind the assembly line took pride in artfully filling each bowl.
They would make sure each creation looked as good as it tasted. And they weren’t stingy with their portions.
Me-N-Titos was opened back in 2018 by Jack Souto to much fanfare. The building originally housed a Dairy Queen and sat on Babcock Street between Melbourne and Eau Gallie. Its 5-year run lasted through a difficult time for businesses, including the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.
“We’re a scratch kitchen. Everything is made in-house, from the chips to the salsa. We have an open kitchen, so customers can see everything that goes into making their food.”

As I was living and working nearby, Me-N-Titos quickly became THE spot to grab a bite to eat.
According to the Me-N-Titos Facebook page, “relentless challenges within the industry” are the reasons for the closure. The building’s next tenants will have big shoes to fill! Good luck to the owners and investors. I hope they continue their vision of Me-N-Tito’s fresh affordable and tasty food in a new restaurant in the future.
